Autism Scholarship (ASP)

ASP at Anchor

Introduction:

Anchor ABA is a provider for the Ohio Autism Scholarship. The Autism Scholarship Program (ASP) provides parents of children with autism, who are eligible for the scholarship, the opportunity to enroll their child in a special education program outside of the local school district. This allows the child to receive education services specified in their individualized education program (IEP). The scholarship runs from July 1-June 30 each year. Applications can be submitted throughout the year. Funds are prorated and you will not receive the full amount if not applying at the start of the application year.

Eligibility:

  • Children 3-22 years of age
  • Current, finalized IEP and ETR with their district of residence
  •  IEP must qualify the child for special education under the category of autism (If they have a diagnosis of autism but it isn’t listed on the IEP it can be amended through the school district) or autism education plan (AEP) developed by the district of residence.
  • The student must be enrolled in a public school in Ohio in their district of residence (when applying for the scholarship they will need to be enrolled as a homeschooled student within their district)

How to apply:

Reach out to Anchor ABA and let us know you’d like to start the scholarship process.

  • An evaluation will need to be completed by Anchor ABA
  • Fill out the application provided by Anchor ABA
  • Provide proof of address (within 60 days) e.g. gas, trash, electric, water, monthly mortgage statement, lease agreement or internet bill with current address listed.
  • Provide a copy of the current ETR and IEP
  • Provide a copy of the child’s birth certificate

Once Approved:

  • Acceptance of scholarship funds form will be sent by Anchor ABA to be filled out by parent or guardian
  • Form will be submitted to the system by Anchor ABA
  • Once the child has started services quarterly progress reports on the child’s IEP will be completed and submitted to the Ohio Department of Education.
  • The school district is still responsible for completing the IEP each year and ETR every 3 years. Anchor ABA will collaborate with the school district.
